The SI-series machines are multipurpose and they were designed based on the block-modular principle making them highly economical and compara-tively cheap. Various tests are possible by replacing sets of modules. The modular principle of their design allows a single machine to be used to execute not only traditional (and standard) test methods but also to perform original studies of models of active systems (such as wheel/rail; shaft/bushing and others). SI-series machines have no mechanical transmissions. This allows to avoid power losses and to increase test accuracy significantly. SI-series machines are provided with an information-controlling system based on PC offering high accuracy of control, measurement and registration of test parameters such as contact and bending loading, frequency of revolution, linear wear (or displacement of axles), temperature in the contact zone, vibroparameters, friction torque, number of cycles of loading, etc. The contact and bending loading is adjustable within a broad range. It allows metal-to-metal, metal-to-polymer and polymer-to-polymer models of active systems to be successfully tested. 10 INVENTIONS WERE INCORPORATED INTO DESIGNING SI-SERIES MACHINES All technical characteristics of the machines satisfy the requirements of Interstate Standard 30755-2001 «Tribo-Fatigue. Machines for Wear-Fatigue Tests. General Technical Requirements». Upon a client’s demand the SI-series machines can be equipped with devices to perform tests:
Si-series machines are successfully used in scientific institutions, industrial enterprises and universities The Tribo-Fatigue Laborarory is subject both to the Institute of Machines Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and to the Special Head Bureau of Designing of Grain and Fodder Harvesters. Since 1995 this Laboratory works in the testing center of designing enterprise Gomel. It is equipped with all modifications of SI-series machines for wear-fatigue tests of materials and the models of active systems. In 1998 the Laboratory for Wear-Fatigue Tests, which was provided with 4 SI-03-M machines, was organized within PG "GOMSELMASH". Since 1997 the Laboratory № 6 (Tribo-Fatigue), which is provided with fully equipped Sl-03 machine, functions in the Institute of Machines Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Special (not automatic) cheap and easy to operate modifications of machines for sliding fatigue and rolling mechanical fatigue tests were designed for fulfilling laboratory assignments within the course "The Fundamentals of Tribo-Fatigue" included in the curriculum of the Belarusian Transport University (Gomel). These machines can also be used for fulfilling laboratory assignments within such disciplines as the Resistance of Materials, Details of Machines, Evaluation and Design of Machines and Equipment, Fundamentals of Tribology (friction and wear in machines) etc. | |||||||||||
