The results of the unique measurements of wear under mechano-sliding fatigue of an active system steel/cast iron are given below.

Discrete wear is registered in eight points along the perimeter of an active system’s vulnerable cross section during one revolution of the specimen. Results of measurements are plotted both as kinetic curves of wear process (see upper part of the plot) and «wear circles» (lower part of the plot). Hence, SI-series machines allow to study the dispersion and anisotropy of properties in local surface zones of friction.

The local friction torque and other characteristics of wear-fatigue damage can be measured and registered in these eight points simultaneously.
