VI INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

ON TRIBO-FATIGUE

Friction, wear, corrosion, temperature and fatigue are the main damaging phenomena which limit operational reliability and durability of modern machines and the equipment. When the specified phenomena are realized simultaneously and complex, i.e. wear-fatigue, damage takes place, laws of its formation and development are studied by tribo-fatigue. By present time fundamental results in this area of knowledge have been obtained. They were discussed at the International symposiums in

·    1993: Gomel , Belarus ;

·    1996: Moscow , Russia ;

·    2000: Beijing , China ;

·    2002: Ternopol , Ukraine ;

·    2005: Irkutsk , Russia .

PURPOSE

Discussion of new ideas by experts will undoubtedly be a stimulus for the further development of research on tribo-fatigue and organizing the international cooperation in the promising area that has a great practical value.

MAIN TOPICS

FRICTION. WEAR. FATIGUE

Problems and results of theoretical and experimental analysis of interaction of the phenomena of friction, wear, fatigue

1 Designs, loadings, materials, and technologies

2 Stress-strain state

3 The damaged state

4 Limiting state

5 Translimiting states

6 Appendices: tribo-fatigue system brake shoes/wheel/rail, gearings, shaft and rotors, a pipe/liquid stream under pressure, joints, etc.

See WORKING PROGRAM OF ISTF 2010 below

Russian Railways and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus together with the International Coordination Council on Tribo-Fatigue agreed to combine traditional scientific and practical conference on wheel-rail problem with the 6th International Symposium on Tribo-Fatigue. Therefore a special session (colloquium) "Problem of Brake Block-Wheel-Rail-Base" will take place within the framework of ISTF 2010. Experts in the specified field are invited to participate in this session.

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus together with the International Coordination Council on Tribo-Fatigue agreed to combine in 2010 traditional scientific and technical conference "Innovations in Mechanical Engineering" with the 6th International Symposium on Tribo-Fatigue. Therefore a special session (colloquium) on the specified problem will take place within the framework of ISTF 2010. Scientists and specialists in mechanics and mechanical engineering are invited to take part in this session.

The sessions (colloquiums) on the following themes are planned within the framework of ISTF 2010 :

- Innovations in Mechanical Engineering and Tribo-Fatigue

- Tribo-fatigue and the Problem of "Brake Block-Wheel-Rail-Base",

- Continuum Mechanics, Mechanics of Deformable Rigid Body, Geomechanics and Tribo-fatigue

- Tribo-Fatigue and Pipe - Fluid (Oil) Flow Active System

- Tribo-Fatigue and Gearings

 We would like to remind scientists and specialists that the texts of the papers should be submitted to Organizing Committee of ISTF 2010 by June 1, 2010 and they will be printed by the beginning of the symposium.
